If you don't mind the drive, this is a nice theater in Charles County, but some say it's sort of in the country. However it's near a larger shopping mall, and other eateries.

One of the newest Museums in Washington DC, the National Museum of African American History and Culture off you a look into history of those that sacrificed and helped shape the world as we know it. This museum also has a dining hall that offers a variety of soul food, and other dishes to meet your dietary needs. Make sure to set aside about 3 hours to tour this museum as it is very large, and hold an immense amount of history to take in. While the museum is FREE of charge, bring some money for dining. You'll have to purchase tickets to tour, which you can do online.
