Unique stores. My favorite for upscale gifts is Tabula Rasa-- they carry Michael Michaund jewelry there (Jack always knows where to shop for something special for me...) as well as interesting books and personal gifts. There are also restaurants such as Desert Edge pub (Sandwiches, salads, (and bar), and The Old Spaghetti Factory. There are niche clothing stores as well as Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware, etc. My favorite new spot there is We Olive-- an olive oil and specialty foods store with a cafe in the back. You can order a flight of wines for tasting, and their grilled caprese sandwich is so delicious! There's just seating for about 20ish people, so go early or wait....

We love everything on the menu at the Dodo! Patio seating in the summer, just across the street from Sugar House Park. Sunday brunch is especially good, and for a weeknight dinner, I prefer to order the Ahi Tuna Medallions from the appetizer menu. They have a specialty dessert, Tollhouse Pie, that heated with a scoop of ice cream on the side is divine!

Great downtown spot to meet up or just go for dinner and drinks. The food is really good, and not just typical bar food. The place gets it's name because of Pioneer LDS (Mormon) Church President, Brigham Young, who was responsible for the layout of Salt Lake City in the 1840's, said that there needed to be a place where the "gentiles" could go to socialize--hence Whiskey Street.

Tucked in the middle of the block behind houses and businesses, many are still unaware of its existence and enjoy a true sense of discovery when they visit the garden for the first time.
Gilgal Sculpture Garden contains 12 original sculptures and over 70 stones engraved with scriptures, poems, and literary texts. As a whole, Gilgal Sculpture Garden is significant as the only identified “visionary art environment” in Utah.
The public is invited to visit the garden seven days a week. There is no admission charge. Walking tour brochures are available at the garden. Visiting hours: April/September – 8 am to 8 pm October/March – 9 am to 5 pm. gilgalgarden.org
