Our favourite restaurants and pubs
We love walking to either The Rose for a drink or the Duke William across the fields for a drink and perhaps dinner or Sunday lunch.
A Little further afield there is the Red Lion which is great after a walk round the lakes in Stodmarsh.
If you wish to spend a more then The Pig at Bridge or The George and Dragon in Fordwich serve delicious food in good surroundings.
We have listed a few places below.

Crockshard HillA good local farm shop that sells local produce and logs for the fire.
If you are visiting Canterbury this is a great place to buy local farm produce and it is possible to have lunch there...... best to book. (Can be a bit chilly as it is a warehouse)

If you like a zoo this is a really good one!
Originally it was a private zoo owned by John Aspinall started in 1957 and then opened to the public in 1975.
Always a controversial figure and a friend of Lord Lucan's, John Aspinall was continually having run-ins with the local council.
They didn't like his health and safety policies as too many game-keepers were killed by tigers.
It's very safe now!

It is free apart from a small fee if parking in the car park.
You should see a good selection of birds as they love the reed beds.

Jane Austen used to stay here and it is one of only three gardens in Kent that are in the The Good Gardens Guide.
