This 843 hectare park is known as Canada’s first nature sanctuary. Lots of trails and even some mountain biking. For the latter, you can connect from the trail right at the end of our street via Stewart Mountain. It is a bit of trek on foot if you are up for the adventure.

From October to December we are lucky enough to experience the salmon run and on occasion have seen a bear happily catching fish from the stream.

From October to December we are lucky enough to experience the salmon run and on occasion have seen a bear happily catching fish from the stream.
One of the most highly awarded golf courses in Canada and it is just less than ten minutes away. Play there and stay here at your oasis without the high resort rates!

Located in Goldstream Provincial Park, the hike to Mount Finlayson is one of the steepest hikes as it climbs up and offers scenic views looking south towards the Langford area. The route is a popular exercise trail and can be busy on weekends, however the views from the top on a clear day are spectacular and worth the hard work of getting there.

Victoria has some unpredictable weather so best to wear layers. It can be cool one moment with rain on the horizon, warm and sunny the next moment. I find it cooler along the ocean as there is a breeze. Comfortable footwear is essential as there are many wonderful trails with various terrain to explore.
