This architecture inspired the Taj Mahal! It was also built in the Mughal era and is a stone's throw away from the apartment. At sunrise, you can almost have this world class monument to yourself with the exception of some enthusiastic early morning risers, chirping birds and some senior citizens who are part of a "laughing" club :-). For yoga enthusiasts, you can practice early morning yoga at sunrise on the lawns of the Humayun's Tomb with a group that has been practicing for many years. Timings are from 6am till 6pm for entry exit but ask the host for some inside tips and you may be able to avoid the "foreigner" entry fee. :-)

The "lone minaret" or "victory tower" is Delhi's tallest monument (73 metres) and a world UNESCO heritage site. If you visit, you will know why. Thankfully, Delhi now has plenty of heritage guided walks through its main monuments, including by night, which can be quite a lovely experience.
It served as the main residence of the Mughal emperors. It's where the Prime Minister hoists the Indian flag on Republic Day each year and gives a speech. I highly recommend seeing it early morning, especially if you are a photographer.
