Sightseeing
The Synchronous Fireflies are amazing. They run from the end of May to the middle of June. One of the only places you will see them in United States. If you will need to call early to get a spot they go fast. The story of Elkmont is very interesting as well and it is a great place to just explore.

Elkmont Campground Road AThe Synchronous Fireflies are amazing. They run from the end of May to the middle of June. One of the only places you will see them in United States. If you will need to call early to get a spot they go fast. The story of Elkmont is very interesting as well and it is a great place to just explore.
The Elk are in rut second week of September to end or the October. They are best seen in the early morning and late afternoon. There are also some great sites to see and walking trails with homestead properties on site. This area is a little tricky to get to but worth it Elk can be seen anytime of year here along with other local wildlife. Pack a lunch and enjoy the day.
