Food scene in Orba and Nearby
The pizzeria in Orba is a very popular restaurant by the village swimming pool. It is Italian run and the pizza is very good. We like the walk down there and back in the evening. It also has a great home delivery service if you don’t want to move! It has a decent selection of vegetarian pizzas, and they have spelt and gluten free bases if you ask.

This is the place to head in Orba if you want breakfast, or coffee and cake. Bit of a British Isles vibe with scones and cakes, but used by everyone. Eggs Benedict is our favourite!

Directly on the beach in Las Deveses, North of Dénia. Lovely cafe with good food. The beaches here are long and flat. Perfect for a walk afterwards!

We recommend this cafe for lovely fresh takeaway sandwiches and cakes for the beach. There are other takeaway places selling pizza slices and fast food, a chippy and a Mas y mas for a beach picnic.

Arenal beach has no end of places to eat and lots of them are good. In our family, everyone likes chicken. We eat here a lot because the chicken is Organic and served with unlimited vegetables. It has another branch in Dénia city.

Places to visit
Great Resort about 30 mins drive. Javea is divided into 3 distinct areas, all worth visiting! There is the old village, the port and Arenal beach. The port has some nice bars, restaurants and and shops. There is a stoney beach and the sea is a beautiful turquoise colour her. The port is popular with wild swimmers. Mid afternoon sees the arrival of the fishing fleet, an enjoyable spectacle! The port has a small family owned cinema. Films are shown in Spanish, with some screenings in English! There are boat trips too.
The Arenal is the place to go if you want a sandy, family friendly beach. It’s a small, low rise beach resort set round a shallow bay. Lots of places to eat, drink and buy things.

Xàbia
Great Resort about 30 mins drive. Javea is divided into 3 distinct areas, all worth visiting! There is the old village, the port and Arenal beach. The port has some nice bars, restaurants and and shops. There is a stoney beach and the sea is a beautiful turquoise colour her. The port is popular with wild swimmers. Mid afternoon sees the arrival of the fishing fleet, an enjoyable spectacle! The port has a small family owned cinema. Films are shown in Spanish, with some screenings in English! There are boat trips too.

Dénia is the nearest city to our house, about 20 minutes drive. It’s a small city, set around an impressive marina, with a scenic castle overlooking it. It has a touristic restaurant area with lots of choice. There is plenty of choice, with upmarket choices and many bars and restaurants in the marina.

It has a touristic restaurant area with lots of choice. There is plenty of choice, with upmarket choices and many bars and restaurants in the marina.
Jalon is a small town in the next valley. It has a lovely market on a Saturday morning (still running but smaller!). It’s a great mix of standard market stuff, food produce and old vintage gems/tat. There are several bars and cafes in the town. The Jalon valley is a beautiful green wine growing valley. It has a large bodega opposite the market.

There are several bars and cafes in the town. The Jalon valley is a beautiful green wine growing valley. It has a large bodega opposite the market.
Day trip
This is a 20 minute drive from the house. There is a natural pool to bath in. It is claimed to have a thermal quality, but it’s cold unless you are right near the spring! It’s a nice trip though, you can bring a picnic if you don’t want to spend money, or use the cafe that overlooks the water. It has an area with pool tables, table football etc that my children like to have a go at when they are bored of swimming!

About 45 minutes from the house. This is a popular trip from Benidorm, but will be quieter this Summer. It does have a charge!
