close to Couples Cay and if you love fried flownder and gulf ship like we do this is the place to go...and a little history for you formly Station #6 Original Life Saving station that was located just north and on the beach this is where the Wright Brothers went to use the telegraph to inform the world of the first air driven flight ....
and as stories have it the Black Pelican is haunted by two former sailors that got into a fight and one of them died and has been seen in the restaurant on several occasions.....spooky :)

All I can say is GO absolutely the best sunset dinner you probably will ever experienced and the food fanaminal.... located in the quant village of Duck just several Mike's north of Couples Cay after dinner enjoy the endless boardwalk that is on the sound side and stretching the length of the village it's self with many shops and eatery you will remember this spot for sure

Every Local knows where to get good fish and this is the SPOT ☺️ fried Mahi Mahi know to locals as a dolphin boats are out of this world served in a basket with fries and hush puppies and the absolute best tarter sauce you will ever have the shakes are another local favorite as well......

3716 N Virginia Dare TrailOK this one is one of our Fav's the menu was put together using the owners favorite foods when on vacation if you like sauces this is the go to place the salads are huge and the dressings are so so good my fav is the gyro plate believe if or not ....a little local history formerly Kitty Hawk Pizza that was owned by the parents Jim and Rita of Greek decent passed on the restaurant to the kids and they have put together a menu that they collected along there way trust me go and enjoy it's all good at Barefoot Bernie's ......

For that special occasion this Bistro is known for the food and Martin's absolutely .... a little history formerly the only hardware store on the beach back in the day ....Virginia Dare Hardware just across the street from the old Winks store that was really the only place to get groceries back in the day ......

This is a must a great show that has been running for many years Andy Griffith lived in Manteo before going to Hollywood and performed in the awesome show that you just can't miss that's if you are a History buff like my husband 🤣😆 also Elizabethen Gardens is also located close to the Lost Colony our family goes there during Christmas time and they go all out for it a super fun time for kids and adults alike

We like going to see the Charter boats unload the days catch good time to get there is around 3:30 when the off shore boats head in and by 4:00 you will start seeing the Gulfstream Charter boats with the daily catches.
