Mount Rainier is that big, beautiful mountain that can often be seen from downtown (or even our backyard, if you're lucky). Visiting Mt. Rainier National Park is a great day trip, as it's only two hours away. Check out the visitor's center to learn more about the volcanic legacy of Mt. Rainier. And take a hike or two! If you're a member of the Y, you can use this facility as part of your membership. If you attend with a member, you can get a day pass.

Sehmel Homestead Park plays host to many local community events, including the popular Fall Festival.

It also has a soccer field, baseball fields, biking/walking paths, a community garden, and plenty of restrooms and parking. Sehmel Homestead Park plays host to many local community events, including the popular Fall Festival.
Discovery Village has been a family favorite of ours for years! Best for toddlers and young children, it offers a clean, well organized play space with a flat admission fee. Areas change regularly, but expect opportunities for large motor play, texture/tactile exploration, building, and domestic play (restaurant, veterinarian, etc). There's a small cafe with healthy choices for kids and adults, as well as a full coffee bar. They also offer a great clothing resale corner with top brands for very reasonable prices.
