Sightseeing
Majestic views all year! Less crowded in the winter months. Get there early to beat the crowds. Personal favorite easy hikes are the path to the entrance of the Narrows, the Emerald Pools hike, and the Overlook trail. Personal favorite harder hikes are Angels landing and Observation Point.
Use caution while hiking in the winter with the snow and ice and caution in the summer with extream heat. Always make sure you have a jacket and pleanty water.

Another great place to cool off from the heat. Stand up paddle boards can be rented here. The water is a little cooler with no swimmers itch but the terrain is very rocky. There are a couple of hikes that surround the lake that are nice to do in the winter/spring/fall months.

This is a family favorite! Beautiful and fun short hike for the kids. There is more water and animal life in the spring or begining of summer but by July it is very hot and dry. Winter hikes are always pleasant if the sun is out.

Snow Canyon Park is a great place to visit if you have time. It is closer to St George and about an hour away from Hurricane. There are some easy and beautiful hikes through the canyon!

Kolob near I-15 in New Harmony is my personal FAVORITE place to visit. It is technically in the Zion National Park but you don't get to it through the Zion Park enterence in Springdale. The mountains are so increadably huge and beautiful. Some locals call the mountains "the five fingers". There are many hikes in the canyon, all levels. In the winter there can be snow on the red mountains and when the sunsets they can light up if it's not too cloudy. Its a short drive to the very top that is worth doing just to see the view. There is a small hike at the top that is great for kids. My personal favorite hike is the Taylor's Creek hike. It is about 5 miles total round trip. There is another cool hike called Kolob Arch that is a little harder. 13 to 14 round trip. Very hot in the summer. Lots of water and food in the summer. Not recommended for winter hiking with lack of daylight hours and some snow. Another tip either before or after your trip to Kolob. take the next exit getting off in New Harmony/Kannaraville and head west past the gas station. after a mile or so turn around and see the amazing 5 fingers from a distance.

Beautiful, fun, refreshing for the hot summer months! We love the sandy side of the lake (take a right after entrence). A great place to relax, have a picnic, do stand up paddle boards or jet skis! Or if you are up for more of an adventure you can try a little cliff jumping! (far left of the lake after entering). *sand hollow has swimmers itch (look it up). The best way to avoid it is to dry off your skin fully with a towel right after exiting the water.

Very close to where you are staying. You can even walk to the theater through the wash if it is dry. The thater has very comfortable chairs and usually isn't too crowded. There is also a VIP room that costs a little extra but is worth the experience!

The Cheveron in Apple Valley is surprisingly one of our favorite burger places! Only 10 minutes fron Hurricane and the drive there is beautiful. It does take some time to get your food but it's worth the wait. If you like onion rings they are the best as well. They also have sanwiches, pizza and breakfast food.
