This is a stunning town, just a short tram ride away and very worth a visit. With it's fine restaurants and colourful houses along the promenade it is a very sought after location. Also the home of the Valor chocolate factory!

Benidorm is a unique place, not everyone's cup of tea granted but I would advise you to visit if you have never been.

Altea old town has stunning old fashioned winding streets with houses, restaurants, shops all built around the blue top church. The promenade of Altea is beautiful, with a wide selection of restaurants and bars overlooking the med.

This is a fabulous base to enjoy the Costa Blanca, just a short tram ride from Alicante city and other stunning locations along the coast.
Alicante also has the fast train to Barcelona or Madrid.
In El Campello marina you can hop on a boat trip to Tabarca Island and enjoy a day of snorkeling and dining.
This town has miles of white sandy beaches and some great bars and restaurants. It's a buzzing town in the summer months and very tranquill off season. The tram is ideal and super efficient taking you up and down the coast to some of the most popular destinations on the Costa Blanca.

You can pay either at the machine on the tram or at the office before you get on the tram. Just check the direction that you want to go in beforehand

Safe and child friendly
This area is very safe and child friendly, however, I would advise you to be vigilant at all times and take special care on the beaches that your child does not go wandering into the sea or get lost in crowds.
The seas' current can change very quickly so even if the green flag is up, you need to take care, especially with children.

Plan your trip before you go and research the places you would like to visit. There are lots of places that are easily accessible by tram, bus and train

If you plan on visiting the sites, it is advisable to pack a pair of comfy walking shoes or trainers amid those high heels and flip flops! If however you plan to just lounge on the beach, then a swim suit and flip flops will surfice.

Buy a good mosquito spray or patches from the chemist
The chemists over here are very helpful. If you do get sick, it is always good to go and see a chemist before waiting around in doctors, they can often give you something that will help.

Medicines
Most medicines, like paracetemol or ibuprofen can be purchased in the chemist. They are much stronger than those of UK so read the label about the dosage.
If you are worried and need medical attention, remeber that you will need your childs passport. All children under 18 should be entitled to free treatment
