The Depot has great takeout pizza and they’re within easy walking distance. We have tried almost all of their pizzas (lol), and you can’t go wrong with any of them.
They also have good subs, and a few breakfast items, as well as deli meats and other basic grocery items.

This cute coffee shop in Lake is just a short 15-minute drive and has great coffee, lunch, and breakfast. If you’re looking for fresh, homemade sandwiches, soups, wraps, salads, pastries, and breakfast, this is it. They also have WiFi and a small sitting area for working or reading.

A funny name for a funny place! Their humor is a bit irreverent, but this drive-in is a fun option if you’re craving hotdogs, burgers, or barbecue. They are open seasonally, so this is a good summer option. We like the chicken grilled cheese (w/ extra BBQ sauce), and their Smoked Pulled Chicken Bacon Ranch Sandwich (shown). Their onions rings are also a must-try.

505 N McEwan StThis little cafe is in downtown Clare, so it is a 20-25 minute drive, but it’s well worth the drive, and it’s a fun town to walk around in and check out the shops. If you have a state park pass (or don’t mind buying a day pass), and would like some beach time, this park has a beach area, and is located in Harrison (which is about 15 minutes from the cottage).
