Can’t miss Hamma Hamma oysters, seafood, beer, and wine! Located on the Hood Canal, it doesn’t get much better. It’s about 25 minutes north of hoodsport, so it’s a bit of a drive, but so worth it. Check hours before you go as they are limited.

Hiking

Lena Lake is a popular hike that is moderate and has easy parking. Ice hiked it in winter with snowshoes and it was quick and beautiful. Highly recommended!

Potlatch State Park stocks clams and oysters. You can get a shellfish license at the gas station in Hoodsport and check the tide schedule online. Then you can pick fresh oysters and clams and eat them canal-side or bring them back to the cabin to grill, bake, fry, or eat raw. It’s one of the best activities around the area! You will need sturdy boots or shoes, a bucket, plastic bag, and a way to shuck oysters!
