Sightseeing
Great scenic drive to squeeze in before or after dinner - or really any time. You can go up East Hill, turn left for the overlook, and then continue on and go down West Hill.
You can also take a right on the top of East Hill and drive to the end of the road (one more view point and possible moose, rabbit, crane and even lynx, and bear sightings). You can turn on Ohlson Moutain Road on East Skyline for a full tour and a view of Cook Inlet and gorgeous wildflowers in the late summer months. East Skyline is where your hosts live :)

If you’re lucky enough to be in Homer during minus tides, then you won’t want to miss tide pooling. Go 60-30 min before the bottom of the tide. Bishop’s Beach is great, or from the trail at Ocean Shore Hotel (down Criterion St). Walk all the way out past the kelp to see hundreds of sea stars, Anenomies, sculpin, and all sorts of other critters! You can also turn right and walk down the bluffs to the tide pools about 2 mi down the beach (or go the 6.5 mi to Diamond Creek).
On the Spit, There are sea stars down at the Lands End Hotel Beach on minus tide. There are sand dollars near the fishing hole. Lots of excellent tide pooling in Homer
