So I've been hitting Eastern Market for years. First, great place to walk to from the house. Grab breakfast, espresso, shop for great buys on clothes and art and look at the beautiful people. I've bought some great art pieces there from the local artists over the years. Just like Paris! Great place to run also. Run to the Washington Memorial and back thru the Market and the neighborhoods. Majestic. A collection of vendors featuring art, jewelry, clothing fine goods along with veggies and specialty food items for sale. Great food selections in and around the Market too.
A visit on Saturday or Sunday 9 - 5 is the full experience!

Ah Trusty's! My old Congressman buddy I and used to go in there for the Chilli and beer. Lots of Hill Staffers and politicos. Cheap date. Great local atmosphere. If Wisdom isn't your thing, our neighborhood dive bar may do the trick. Great beer on tap, excellent bar menu including chicken chili and nachos along with tasty hot sandwiches! Venture up to the second floor to see a real live school bus that was transplanted there! Unique greasy spoon with local flavor!
