Neighborhoods

The Mission District is SF's food central. Cuisines from Argentina, Japan, Cuba, Ethiopian, and our own California fusion are among many others where you can find authentic flavors. I would argue that the burritos found Mission District taquerias are the best in the west coast. Visit Dolores Park if you want to see how locals hang out away from tourists that you'll find in Golden Gate Park. It is a vibrant gathering space and on the top of the hill boasts one of the most scenic view of San Francisco. Mitchell's Ice Cream located at the edge of the Mission District brings the Filipino ice cream flavors to life. There is always a line, so grab a ticket number. Try the "halo-halo"--a Filipino favorite. Everything is GOOD here!

Sightseeing

Golden Gate Park is world famous housing the Japanese Tea Garden, Academy of Science, Botanical Garden, De Young Museum... it goes on and on! But did you know that on Sunday, the park is close to vehicle traffic and bikers, runners, roller skaters take over the streets. If you want to watch or learn some amazing swing dancers, only on Sundays from 11:30-2:30, there is free outdoor swing dancing (Lindy Hop) where locals and visitors learn how to dance with SF's dance community. FREE Lesson starts at 12:30pm. You can find them smiling as they swing out behind the De Young Museum... and simply follow the loud swing music floating in the air and you'll find these crazy dancers.

City/town information

If you have time, visit Sausalito to see the San Francisco from a slightly different angle. It is a bit pricy, but while you are there you'll find many superb Italian and sea food restaurants. On a budget, I recommend to find a Golden Gate Market and grab a delicious sandwich and drink. Walk down the Bridgeway and find a place to sit. Have yourself a picnic overlooking the San Francisco bay. On a sunny day, you'll will not regret visiting Sausalito.
