The beaches of Qualicum Beach are only 3.5 kms from Tranquil Gardens Cottage. A short distance to drive or ride a bike. The beach extends for almost 2 kms with warm fine sand and gorgeous views. Plenty of benches to sit and relax while enjoying the view. Paddle boards are available for rent here. There are some eating establishments in the area.

Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park is only 25 minutes from Tranquil Gardens Cottage. When the tide is low, the sand goes on forever. Take your time to explore the beach or spread out a towel and enjoy the views. If you're more energetic then there is a large network of hiking trails through the Douglas fir forests.
