Berry Head Hotel is one of those places you have to visit when you are here, otherwise you are missing out! Prime location for sea views, which is just breathtaking. I have heard dolphins can be sighted here. Has lots of seating outside and when the sun is out, you feel like you are in another country! Great food and very reasonably priced. Also can visit for drinks only. We recommend the Sunday roast carvery, which when we last went we enjoyed with a soothing pianist player and glass of bordeaux! And another dog friendly place, so you can bring your 4 legged friend with you

Not somewhere I have eaten out at yet, but EVERYONE tells me its the place to go for a special meal. The owner was on the Sky programme "Fish Town" which was a documentary on Brixham. Locally fresh caught fish on the menu each day. The pics looks fantastic.

I have heard good reports on this restaurant, again just off a road on the waterfront. Steak and grill place. I am recommending as others have done the same

Has the most amazing views and meant to be exceptional. Fine fish menu and guess what....dog friendly! Bit more expensive than your local chippy but you are paying for the experience

Now this is the gem of Brixham for me. What a fantastic local pub, and luckily only 3 min walk away from the cottage. Traditional pub with real ale, lovely wines and good music at the weekends. Lovely log fire and such a homely cosy feel. Staff and punters so friendly, no trouble, always busy but manageable, mostly sitting down....many a fun evening. You are lucky to have this on your doorstep. Dog friendly but no food. Perfect for a pre-dinner drink but get there early if you want a seat!

83 Fore StRight on the harbour, a true seaside historic pub. Popular with visitors, so you will always meet all walks of life, often with their 4 legged friends. Has a small restaurant for food aswell. If I cannot find my respectable other half, this would be my first port of call....often bumps into someone interesting who has a story to tell!
A ‘tea parlour’ by day and a cocktail bar at night – lovely quirky seating area inside but also do table service along the harbour across the road (near to the Golden Hind)

Again very local, about 100 yards from the cottage. It’s meant to be ‘The’ Ale pub having won numerous CAMRA awards. A real ‘local’ – live music & quiz nights -They do not allow dogs however.

Sightseeing
This is a dog friendly cove all year round. Its also the ideal choice for escaping from the crowds. Shingle beach but so idyllic! And has a lot of history....This is Where William III of Orange landed with his 20,000 strong Dutch Army in 1688. See the statue on Brixham Harbour. You can walk to the cove from the cottage, along the coastline and through the historic Battery Gardens, which does not only boast one of the most panoramic views in the bay, it is also a Scheduled Monument. As far back as the 1780s the area was used for military training; most significantly it was a World War II Coastal Defence Battery, with up to 250 soldiers based there. Many of the structures and emplacements from this period are still in existence.

Quintessential thatched roof village just outside of Torquay. Has a large country park, great for a lovely stroll with beautiful scenery. Also has a large manor with art rooms and tea rooms. Brilliant pub as well, The Drum Inn. Great food.
