Hidden away at the back of a marina, with good outdoor seating, often times live music and some views of the water, Awedaddy's is a local hangout where we felt welcomed as soon as we moved here.

The real deal when it comes to hamburgers, milkshakes, tots and rings. If you don't have a totally polite server with more "yes sir" and "yes mamm" than you've ever heard, I'll be surprised. They have a farmhouse burger with an egg - it's sooooo good.

Neighborhoods
These are some of our favorite nearby small towns. Nearly everyone knows about Franklin (awesome small town on steroids), I’m pointing you to much smaller locales, each with a handful of fun stores, a few good or quirky restaurants and merchants who will be glad you walked through the door.
Lebanon is a growing rural town with a square featuring enough nice shops for a 2 hour shopping stroll, a handful of good restaurants, one great coffee shop and a all the Southern kindness your heart needs.

Sightseeing
If you're enjoying the goats at our Hobby Farm, but you want more, like a LOT more, then take the one-hour, scenic drive to Smithville, TN and visit Julie and the team at Harmony Lane. You can cuddle baby goats, interact with their llamas, donkeys, exotic birds and more. The farm tour is a total deal. Reservations needed. Tell Julie, "Evan and Debbie sent us" and you'll probably get a little something free slipped into your bag when you buy something in the shop.

Hiking and more
We don’t feel comfortable walking on the country road we live on. It’s quiet, but there are occasionally horse trailers, bass boats, and other vehicles that don’t make for a great walk. So here are a few parks and other favorite things to do outdoors nearby.
This is a great little park about 15 minutes away. It has a playground and a wading pool sand volleyball and some exercise equipment but it’s best feature is a 1 mile paved walking running trail that has another spur off of it that goes in toward the town of Lebanon. I’ve done a lot of running here.

I’ve done a lot of running here.
There’s a mountain biking trail at this park but it’s also good for walking. Has some views of the lake as you hike.

This park is about a half an hour away and has a nice trail through the woods, it goes along the lake and it’s got some elevation to it. It’s the best nearby hike.

This is one of our favorite hikes and it’s about an hour drive. Lots of relief, lots of up-and-down, beautiful views into a deep ravine. We think it’s worth the drive.

This is a great park that has a sandy beach and a shady area right on the water at Percy Priest reservoir. A 30 minute drive from here this is one of our favorite places to take a picnic and be near the water
