Book your tour tickets online in advance to save time and have a guaranteed spot for you and your group. Wear comfortable shoes and dress in layers as the tour is on foot and involves some hills, stairs and being in areas of the distillery that vary in temperatures. Dry County Tours do not include any alcohol, so if you want to sample some Jack, add a Tasting to your tour ticket. Plan ahead for what you'd like engraved on a special bottle of Jack you can purchase on-site.

There are trails of varied lengths, difficulty and terrains - truly something for everyone - and a gift shop with nice bathrooms for pre/post hike needs. Hike the trials in the off season to see the lake in complete peace. At times, the lake truly looks like glass - so calm, so clear, so serene. Rope bridges and other cool features abound on the trails at Tim’s Ford Lake State Park.
City/town information
Taking a trip to downtown Lynchburg is like taking a trip back in time. The quaint square is very walkable. Give yourself 60-90 minutes to visit the shops. The Jack Daniel's Distillery is very close to the square, as is Miss Mary Bobo's restaurant. We like to park on the square and then walk to the distillery from there. And don’t forget to try the chocolate covered bacon - or at least go to the Candy shop and see/smell it!

For a more upscale dining option, Filo’s Tavern has a high-end atmosphere without the uppity vibe. Elevated American food without big city prices. It reminded us very much of one of our favorite upscale American restaurants, J Alexander’s. Great service with friendly staff who were quick to keep our drinks full and made sure we didn’t leave without trying the incredible carrot cake. Highly recommend next time you’re in Winchester or near Tims Ford Lake!
Filo's Tavern
For a more upscale dining option, Filo’s Tavern has a high-end atmosphere without the uppity vibe. Elevated American food without big city prices. It reminded us very much of one of our favorite upscale American restaurants, J Alexander’s. Great service with friendly staff who were quick to keep our drinks full and made sure we didn’t leave without trying the incredible carrot cake. Highly recommend next time you’re in Winchester or near Tims Ford Lake!
