Another option for groceries. Need supplies for your stay? You can also get a fishing license, fishing supplies, coolers, and whatever extras you need to perfect your outdoor activies or indoor stay. I would consider Walmart pet-friendly as I have taken my dog shopping several times.

The pizzas are great, cooked in a brick oven. They also have a make your own salad option (if you aren't into pizza). And, they make delicious homemade Italian sodas! They are locally owned and operated and deliver in town. Or, you can check out their location on Santa Fe Trail featuring a couple of food trucks and often one of our famous Cartopia cars parked out front.

It's not Texas BBQ, but it's pretty good. My husband enjoys the brisket. They've also got a pretty great philly and I always go for the Smokehouse Tacos. They also have a full bar and a pool table and darts downstairs.

My husband loves the Filet and compares it to meals we've eaten in places like Austin and Denver. Their lamb chops are ridiculously tasty. And, both the Thai and Indian Curry's will satiate your need for comfort food. This one may be the priciest restaurant in town. Full bar available.

Nice little fish and chips bar with live music videos playing in the background. I've got loads of allergies and i was still able to enjoy some grilled cod and homemade fries. My husband loved the fish and chips and also the surf and turf special. You must be 21 to enter the business (you can get food to go though).

If you happen to be visiting between June - August, come check it out (I'll be one of the vendors on most weekends) on Saturdays from 9 - Noon. Everything sold is locally made. There's usually live music and a wide variety of options from fresh produce, to handmade soaps, crystal healing sets (that's me), pottery, pastries and so much more!

This little park isn't that far from the house (20 minute drive?), and you'll find it surprisingly uncrowded. Pick your spot and enjoy the nature. Park fees apply of course.

It's completely free, but would be a challenging drive for something less powerful like a Prius. We've driven our 2 WD truck up it, without issue and our 4WD did even better. Takes about 10 minutes to get to the drive up from the house and less than 5 minutes to get up that hill where you will find an amazingly breathtaking view that just goes on for miles and miles. It's windy up there, so maybe put the hair up and bring a jacket. Enjoy!

This is great for the whole family and you really won't believe some of the work placed in these mobile art pieces (and Yes! they DO run! We actually have a Cartopia parade here in Trinidad once a year. )
Fishers Peak is Colorado's newest state park. While it is still in progress and set to expand over the next few years, it currently offers some hike and bike trails for visitors to enjoy. Beautiful views for sure! Fun for the whole family!

You have to go thru NM to get to it, but it's actually located in Colorado. I've heard quite a few stories of very good fishing at this park. Haven't gotten there myself yet for fishing, but I can say it's a beautiful park. Don't miss the beautiful view at the top of the trail that heads up the hill.

160 NM-526You have to go thru NM to get to it, but it's actually located in Colorado. I've heard quite a few stories of very good fishing at this park. Haven't gotten there myself yet for fishing, but I can say it's a beautiful park. Don't miss the beautiful view at the top of the trail that heads up the hill.

My husband loves the Filet and compares it to meals we've eaten in places like Austin and Denver. Their lamb chops are ridiculously tasty. And, both the Thai and Indian Curry's will satiate your need for comfort food.

Tequila's is easy to get to, has plenty of parking and recently added outdoor seating. Of all the restaurants in Trinidad, I would say this is the closest we have to Tex-Mex. The fajitas are always a good choice, but most everything on the menu is tasty and the portions are generous. This one is also OPEN on SUNDAYS and MONDAYS (unlike most restaurants in town). They are dog-friendly as long as you eat on the new outdoor patio, If you happen to be allergic to dairy like me, be informed, their guacamole has sour cream in it. Order avocade slices instead.
