Bizou is located on the Downtown Mall at 199 West Main Street, and has a creative menu with locally sourced foods. I have never been disappointed with their food. It is reasonably priced fare, and has both indoor and outdoor seating.

Here's where we go for special occasions. Angelo is an amazing chef who can turn almost any meal into a locally-inspired masterpiece. I can never pass up his baby rack of lamb! The best! If it's a birthday celebration, be sure to let them know in advance.

From my wife, Ellen: Thoughtfully sourced and carefully roasted. This is one of three locations. The original Mudhouse is on the DTM (downtown mall) but this one is also nearby. If you like pour overs or coffee shops that roast their own, and support local farmers in regions such as Ethiopia, Nicaragua or Honduras you might enjoy Mudhouse. I went to a coffee tasting class there about 10 years ago, and learned so much about beans and the roasting process, and decided I really like light roast coffees more than dark roast. My total favorite is the Worka blend from Ethiopia. Note: Pour overs are pricey, and coffee in Cville in general is pricey. But at Mudhouse it is worth it!
