In my opinion one of the nicest areas with the famous Albert Cuyp Market around the corner. You can buy local food (try the stroopwafels) but also clothes and interior stuff. Around the corner of our apartment you will find Gerard Douplein with lots of restaurants, bars, pubs and shops.

This is local area where you will find lots of local caterers. It’s a beautiful area to walk around (lots of small streets between the canals). On Saturday and Monday you will find flea-markets at the Noordermarkt, Jordaan. Behind the Noordermarkt you will find the Haarlemmerbuurt with also lots of shops and restaurants.

The 9 straatjes (9 streets) is a popular area with 9 tiny streets around the canals. It’s located in the centre of Amsterdam and provides lots of shops. This is such a fun area to stroll around and my highest recommendations to got shopping. Vintage shops, local shops and popular shops like Ganni, Samsoe&Samsoe, American Vintage & Levi’s. From here it’s a 5 minute walk to the Bijenkorf, the biggest warehouse of the Netherlands.
This is a high end shopping street behind Museumplein. Museumplein is also worth a visit (you will find musea like Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh). At the PC Hooftstraat you will find shops like Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Gucci. At the end of the PC Hooftstraat you walk directly into the famous Vondelpark.
