In 2018 Dean Banks decided to move home to Scotland, after visiting over 40 countries with his work and passion for food. This coincided with Dean feeling it to be the right time to enter Masterchef the professional where he wowed judges from the get go. Using the techniques, creativity and a showcase of the flavours from his travels Dean advanced to the final 3 of the 2018 show.
At this pivotal point in his cooking career Dean has now decided its time to showcase his food and dining style to the Scottish public by opening his first restaurant in St Andrews.

The Steak Barn is a unique dining experience and will certainly not disappoint!
This former sawmill clings to its rustic past with walls of potato boxes and rough hewn communal tables made of wind blown beech from the estate; all cut and made on the farm by our resident joiner.
The menu: Steaks, hung for no less than 28 days, burgers and sausages made here in our butchery, all cooked to order on our massive wood-fired BBQ. Add twice fried chips, or crispy beer battered onion rings, wine and local beer and enjoy. Complete the experience a little something sweet and perhaps a wee espresso.

Well worth the £2 car park entry fee! Stunning walks, fantastic woodland - remember your camera!
The Crepe Shack is a great lunch spot, no open fires are allowed however you are more than welcome to bring disposable barbeques.
