local food stores around stockel market. There is an incredible choice of first-class food stores in this area:

o Sirre: great for croissants and baguettes, …
o Le pain quotidien: a bakery chain (started in Brussels but is also available in New York, Paris, …)
o Les tartes à Françoise: best cakes and quiches in town, only in take-away
• Chocolatiers:
o Benoit Nihant: Most exclusives pralines with original tastes
o Marcolini: a belgian renowned Belgian chocolate artisan one of our favourites
o Nehaus: The Belgian inventor of the praline is also very tasty
• Cheese, antipasti and cold cuts:
o Pata Negra- la patte noire: best cheese in town, great products but not cheap
• Take-away- Catering:
o Fonteyne the kitchen: if you don’t want to cook here are great fresh and healthy food
o Sushi: Fresh good sushi
o Tenshi stockel: sushi, ramen, and other Asian food. Restaurant and take-away
o O’liban: Libanese cuisine to take away

Place du ChâtelainMain restaurants area is around a place called place du Chatelain here is a small selection of our favorite restaurants in that neighborhood:
o La cevicheria: Peruvian mainly ceviches
o Maru: Korean food
o Toucan sur Mer: Seafood restaurants
o Dam sum: delicious dim sum

Down town brussels
o Wolf sharing food market: a food court with all sorts of cuisine to taste from in one place
o Noordzee-Mer du Nord: fresh seafood with a unique concept you eat outside a high table, in a beautiful square near place Sainte Catherine. I recommend the fish soup and the shrimp croquette.
o Gaston: original ice cream flavors like black charcoal vanilla ice cream on the place Sainte- Catherine
o Maison Dandoy Grand Place: With a real good either Brussels or Liege waffle more authentic than tourists waffle shops
o Express: affordable Lebanese snack next to Grand-Place
o Woodpecker brunch chain with a few locations around town. It is pretty much American-inspired. As you can eat different kinds of pancakes and waffles and drink several kinds of coffee. The portions are good, and you usually get out of there full. In case you miss home don’t hesitate to go there.
o Umamido ramen:
o Fornostar: good pizzeria
o Intermezzo: affordable lunch paste like in Italy

Le chalet Robinson: a bit further but also Belgian eatery where you can go from noon until the evening and even brunch and waffle time in the afternoon. You need one euro per person the make the crossing to the middle of the lake, but it is really nice and enchanting when the weather is nice.

The medieval Bruges, called the Venice of the north is an absolute must-see with its canals and its beautiful historic center. There will be three Sundays in july with a special flea market.

20 minutes from there is the Belgian coast with Knokke. There is a combination of holiday vibe, upscale shopping, and a lot of art galleries. Beach Hamptons vibes.

Finally in the city you can try one of the best Belgian breweries.
