You will pass this grocery store before arriving to Buxton so it’s a great place to stock up. Also a tip that you might not know. They have incredible sushi made daily,pre packaged salads and rotisserie chickens for lunch or dinner without the hassle of the restaurant scene and probably half the price.

Great place to stock up on organic produce,sushi etc after getting an acai bowl at The Spot a couple miles away. Again this is not in Buxton but Nags Head about 1.5 hours north but just another suggestion for a great supermarket before you get to Buxton.

Noticing a theme here. We love acai bowls and recommend everyone try them as well. This is a great place to stop in Rodanthe about half hour before Buxton for a cold and healthy treat. This place makes their own acai base which makes it a bit healthier than The Spot in Nags Head. Both are delicious.

Apple Ugly a must. Make sure you get double bagged especially if you are walking. Haha you will see why

Driving tips
Please stop at cross walks and absolutely no passing on the right. Watch your speed. OBX is a slower lower area that forces you to take it slow and enjoy the scenery and wildlife. You will get tickets for breaking these rules.

Get you drive on beach permit for 4WD at Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. Drop your tire air pressure to 18 psi a must so you won’t get stuck
