Fantastic, cosy bar with very knowledgable staff. Decent range of local spirits, beers and wines. You can order off their (very good) food menu, or sit outside and have the pizza from Oskar next door.

Great cafe. Very popular, so if there's more than two of you, expect to wait on weekends. If you can't be bothered waiting (I understand) they do takeaway coffees and basic food across the road at Counter. Highly recommended.

Getting Around
There are several lines coming from the western suburbs that pass through North Melbourne, meaning there's a relatively high frequency of trains running into the heart of the city. To get to the airport, I highly recommend taking a train to Broadmeadows station and then the 901 bus to the airport. Often quicker that taking the Skybus from Southern Cross Station, and costs less than $8 per person.

The attitudes of staff leave a lot to be desired here, but it's reasonably well stocked and in close distance to the apartment to pick up any groceries needed. But really, if you have the time, just head down Victoria St to Queen Victoria Market.

Beautiful library on the harbour. This is my usual running route from the apartment, down along the Docklands harbour-front and down the pier to the library. Stop for a coffee at Hortus – cafe that looks like a forest in a tent.
