As the saga says around the year 1200 the men from the southern part of the country went up north to make war with the Northern people. But the Northern people knew they were coming so they all came together at a fort that the nature has created and were going to tire the southern men off. But than they ran out of food so they send one man up on the fortress wall and he ate some meat but didn´t finish it of and threw the rest away. So then the southern men who were going to starve the Northern people gave up and went home.

Quite interesting.
For those who like bathing outside there is a hot nature pool that is by the sea. You just have to drive past the white houses (Reykjaskoli - school camp) and there just by the sea is a hot pool and a beautiful view. There is no place to shower or put on your swim suits so you have to wear them and take towels with you.
