Parks & Nature
Beautiful soft white sand beach withing the Northern section of Freycinet National Park. Walk for 5 minutes or 5 hours. It's not frequently visited so it's not uncommon to have the beach to yourself. Popular with local surfers. It's not a patrolled beach so not ideal for small children for swimming.

The closest thing we have to a cultural hub in Coles Bay. Great selection of books, Tasmanian nature, Tasmanian history and Aboriginal culture, Tasmanian food and children's books. They also have a good range of rain jackets, soft toy animals and souvenirs, souvenir clothing and postcards and Tasmanian scenery posters and some artwork. You can pick up a Parks Pass here too, along with advice on walking tracks in the Park.

They also have a good range of rain jackets, soft toy animals and souvenirs, souvenir clothing and postcards and Tasmanian scenery posters and some artwork. You can pick up a Parks Pass here too, along with advice on walking tracks in the Park.

Take a cruise to the iconic Wineglass Bay. In season there's a good chance of seeing either Southern Wright or Humpback Whales. Lunch provided, whilst moored in Wineglass Bay. Beautiful views along the way. Personally, I never knew how different the ocean side of the Freycinet Peninsula was until I took the cruise.

Take a quad bike tour through to South Friendly beaches along 10km of 4WD tracks. Unless you have a 4WD car, it's the only way to get there. There's 2 or 4 hour tours available. Check out the scenery and local historical spots along the way. You can also go as a passenger in the buggy if you don't want to take a quad bike yourself.

Your best chance of seeing a Tassie Devil on your trip to the East Coast. Highly recommended is the Devils in the Dark experience where you are taken to a secure and secret location to watch devils feeding from a hide.
