A “Tavern Brewery” serving the Culpeper area that celebrates the German immigrant contribution to the American beer tradition but also embraces the variety of beer styles from all over the world. Brewing and serving are all done in the same space, modeled after the small taverns that dotted the landscape before prohibition. Our house beers are the classic German ales: Kolsch, Hefeweizen, and Altbier. There will always be a rotating variety of additional styles, including British ales, Belgian styles, and the American craft brews that are the envy of the world.

The Graffiti House, located at 19484 Brandy Road in the eastern end of the town of Brandy Station, Virginia, is believed by the Brandy Station Foundation to have been built in 1858. It is one of few dwellings in the village built before the American Civil War to survive intact to this day. The house is notable because of the Civil War era graffiti on many of the walls. The graffiti found includes names, drawings, names of units, and inscriptions left by soldiers. http://www.brandystationfoundation.com

Yowell Meadow Park is an amazing jewel in downtown Culpeper that features: a playground for the youngsters, skateboard park for kids who can handle it, a paved walking trail (1+ miles) around the entire park, a pavilion for parties and picnics, basketball court, softball diamond, PAR course, soccer field, a stream a small lake and restroom facilities for everyone. Enjoy an early morning walk or an afternoon picnic.

It is an easy 15-minute drive from The Lewis Suite and there is parking on and near E. Davis Street. Concerts and festivals downtown during spring, summer and fall. Great view of the Blue Ridge Mountains and great Christmas decorations through New Year's. Something for everyone.
