Bloomington is know for its international cuisine, and Samira is one of the best international restaurants in town. They serve authentic Afghani dishes. They have the best buffet in town (fresh, delicious, healthy), and a really nice dinner menu.

This is the only Vietnamese restaurant in town (as far as I know), and thankfully it's pretty good. I'm a fan of their noodle salads, and recommend the ramen noodles over the rice noodles. But that's just me.

To be honest, when I first saw the name of this place when it opened, I thought it was a terrible, and thought that a restaurant that only served soup was a bad idea. Well, I was wrong (about the second part, I still think it's a pretty bad name for a restaurant). Their soups are UNBELIEVABLE. It's fast, convenient, and delicious. I've probably eaten here more than any other restaurant in town. If they have the Kielbasa and Cabbage, get it. The wheat bread's not very good but the white bread goes great with any soup.

Uptown is a Bloomington staple, and has consistently provided excellent food for any meal of the day. I usually end up going there for breakfast, but their lunch and dinner options are excellent as well. The coffee is kind of a rip-off, but the food is absolutely top-notch.

This restaurant doesn't have the most welcoming vibe, and it's not the fanciest place in town by long shot... but I love it. I've been getting Gyros, hotdogs, and fried zucchini here for over a decade and have never been disappointed, although I can't say I've been overly impressed either!

Seriously excellent hot dogs. Not very close to the apartment, but also not very far because nothing is very far in Bloomington.

Quite possible one of the best places in Bloomington. Famous for their incredibly simple, humble, midwestern, working-class hamburgers that are just obscenely good. They are the opposite of the super fancy hipster burgers available in all the cool restaurants in the biggest cities, and twice as good. The onion rings are awesome. The fried bologna sandwich is a miracle.

But there are a few things that I find very impressive: their customer service is impeccable, you get a free sample of Italian ice while you wait for your sandwich, and the reuben is quite good (when it's made right). Oh, and their stuffed pepper soup is off-the-charts amazing, which is strange because all of their other soups are quite bad.
