This is a lava cave that is about 3/4 mile long. It's rocky and uneven, but plenty of room to walk through. Wear hiking boots and bring along a couple of good flashlights! This is a fairly technical cave hike.
Take I-40 west towards Williams. Exit at Bellemont (Pilot Gas). Take the access road along I-40 west bound on the north side of I-40. Go about a half mile and turn right on the forest road. There is a sign directing you to the lava cave.

Don't miss the Coconino County Superior Court building, this historic building was built in 1894 from rock quarried locally.
