A steep climb (initially via a stone staircase) takes hikers to Heart Lake; the viewpoint, which takes in the Gulf Islands and the mainland, is one of the best in the region. There are two choices at the lake itself: Turn east and march on toward Stocking Lake (9.3km loop) , or take the western Heart Lake Loop. The Heart Lake Loop is a challenging 6.4 kilometers that will take approximately 2 hrs to walk. You can access the trail from Davis Road Park or Holland Creek Trail.
