Le marché existe depuis 1933 et son architecture, de style art déco, lui vaut d’être classé parmi les plus beaux édifices de la ville de Montréal.Ouvert toute l’année, le marché est célèbre pour ses nombreuses boucheries et fromageries, ses producteurs horticoles au printemps, mais aussi pour ses maraîchers, qui s’installent sur le pourtour de l’édifice, l’été venu. Les boutiquiers offrent une belle variété de produits frais, raffinés et originaux.

It's the blackboards in every room, scrawled with the names of carnal pleasures in lilting French: foie de veau au girolles, tournedos de cheval aux escargot, saucisse de lapin en salami, steak de gigot d'agneau. It's the slinky knots of spaghetti, ensnaring lobster and bacon in their coils, being devoured at every other table. It's the way an arc of flowing Chablis refracts the dim lighting. It's the chat-up-your-neighbor coziness. And really, it's having seized on a reservation at all.

This small, jazz-ambient restaurant, a minute next to metro Côte-des-neiges, offers great french cuisine and large variety of wines. Service was good, and bilingual, and we did not wait to long for our meals. Overall a great place to eat, particularly for dates. And of course, 1$ oysters are a great entrée to share with friends!

La première boulangerie ouvre ses portes dans Outremont (si vous montez d’ailleurs les marches et que vous scrutez bien les photos, vous en trouverez quelques unes datant de l’ouverture) et rapidement, Mamie Clafoutis s’implante dans le cœur des Montréalais – et dans d’autres quartiers de la ville! Parks & Nature
Mont Royal is a city park similar to Central Park in NYC. It is a natural oasis in the middle of the metropolis. It is located on the small mountain that rises from Montreal and its name is the source of the city's name. It is a large area covering hundreds of acres. It is wooded and serene. The climb up to the Chateau is rigorous. If you take the stairs it is over 400 steps to the lookout at the Chateau. If you are in good enough physical condition the climb is definitely rewarded with a wonderful view of the city with the St. Lawrence River and Mountains beyond.
The Chateau does have restroom facilities. There are also benches to rest.
