Food Scene

Big favorite of visitors to Huntsville because of its scenic location at the town dock on the Muskoka River. Great food 3 levels of patios for dining with load of room in good weather. The pub has indoor space but limited seating in poor weather. Also no deep fryers for you French Fry lovers. All food very good especially the beef dip and salads of all kinds. Live music Friday and Saturday

East Side Mario's is a Canadian chain of casual dining restaurants, managed by its parent holding company Prime Restaurants. The restaurant specializes in Italian-American cuisine. Individual locations aim to recreate the historic ambience found at the corner of Canal Street and Mulberry Street in Lower Manhattan.[1] The brand is marketed as "A taste of little Italy". Dining experience[edit] Every restaurant has two sections for dining. The first is the dining room which features tables and booths. At older Kelseys locations, each of the booths features a celebrity theme and includes memorabilia that are frame up on the wall. These items range from signed movie posters to certain accessories that are worn in a movie. Newer locations feature pictures of Kelsey’s history. The second choice for dining is the bar area also known as the lounge. Some locations also have booths in the lounge but mostly high tabletops are found as the main dining option. The bar is another place that one can choose to eat at. The lounge features the full Kelseys menu along with a

There is a place that everyone should visit. It's called the Dyer Memorial and is found just outside Huntsville, a captivating town in Muskoka. The Memorial is not difficult to locate; almost anyone from Huntsville can direct you. When in Huntsville, drive north along the main road (Highway 11B) to Williamsport Road. On Williamsport Road, the Memorial is eight kilometers into the woodland. Watch for signs pinned to the trees at the intersections leading to the Memorial. http://www.keepingalive.com/section10.html

Built in 1922, the original Dorset Tower reached 82 feet high and was used as a fire lookout. Today the restored lookout tower looms 100 feet into the air and is visited by more than 60,000 vehicles each year. Autumn marks the peak time for tower visits, as the bird’s eye view over the sea of gold and red treetops makes quite the spectacle. The grounds surrounding the tower feature hiking trails and a picnic area. There is also a gift shop onsite.

Great History lesson! The Pioneer Village site is awesome... a lot to see and read and hear about how people lived more than a hundred years ago. You can spend more than 1-2 hours visiting the different buildings, asking questions, seeing presentations. The train museum is another historical site worth visiting. The train ride itself is fun you get to go on a short steam train ride, (10-15 minutes), then you get off, wait while it turns around, and then return to the station, very interesting.

A peaceful day hike Many hiking paths to choose from and everything is well marked. You can go in for a full day hike or an hour hike. Very quiet. I hiked Buck Lake on a Thursday in July and didn't meet a single person. The lake itself is very tranquil with fish jumping and lots of flora surrounding.

Good place to go and visit a small little hamlet that is Port Sydney. There is a small but well keep beach that all will enjoy. Also you will find the villages large covered pier and a couple of restaurants and a general store. Port Sydney was once the boarding place for steam ships that took took guests from all over Canada and the USA on their way to Bigwin Island in the Big Band Ears of the 20's. The boats would connect them with the Portage Rail Line that ran east toward Lake of Bays were they would board another boat to the island.

The essence of Algonquin is in its vast interior of maple hills, rocky ridges, and thousands of lakes. The only way to explore the interior of this park is by canoe or on foot. There is also a second Algonquin - along the 56 kilometre stretch of Highway 60. Here you can enjoy camping at one of eight campgrounds, hike one of 14 trails, take part in extensive Natural Heritage Education programs, and visit Algonquin’s exceptional Visitor Centre, Logging Museum and Art Centre. For over 50 years, each Thursday in August, park staff have offered the “Public Wolf Howl”, a highly engaging program on wolf ecology that includes howling for wolves. Weather and wildlife dependent.
