Zion National Park South Entrance Ranger Station
151-161 Zion – Mount Carmel HighwayKanarraville Falls is an incredible hike through a slot canyon and a river with some amazing views near the end of a waterfall that you can even use a ladder to climb up. You will get wet during this hike and the water is cold so come prepared. Summer is the best time to visit this trail, because the water is warmest. This hike is east of the town of Kanarraville.
There is a $10 parking fee at the trail head, which covers your vehicle till 10pm nightly. Since this hike is outside of Zion National Park, a permit is not required. Like all slot canyons, do not take this hike if it is raining or threatening rain due to risk of flash flooding. Dogs are not permitted on this hike.

Red Cliffs Desert Reserve Visitor Center
111 N 200 EAlthough there are many trails in this area, I recommend the short and sweet Red Cliffs Nature Trail. This trail leads from the campground at the Recreation Area into a narrow canyon next to a small stream. This trail is dog friendly and great for kids and adults alike! This hike really is all about the journey as well as the destination. There are so many beautiful and unique sandstone formations to see everywhere and at the end you come to Babylon Arch! You can also hike down near the Virgin River if you would like and this is a perfect setting for sunset!

The most popular trails at Zion are Angel’s Landing and the Narrows. Angel’s Landing is one of the most beautiful hikes and viewpoints you will ever see. It is quite a difficult trail with many narrow trail areas with cliffs on either side so it might not be be best for people with a fear of heights.

This is especially recommended in the summer as it gets really hot in this area and swimming in the water will feel especially refreshing. There are some rental places in Hurricane if you want to try out kayaks or other water sports. It is also a really popular place to swim and to cliff jump!

At the Pioneer Heritage Museum in the city of Hurricane, Utah you’ll find some reverently preserved 1907 fruit cake, and a slab of 1945 bacon that’s holding on for dear life. Take the guided tour if offered and you can see other oddities, like a hand-carved wooden chain with over 125 links and several caged, round balls, and a 15 foot hand-knitted sampler scarf with 80 knitting patterns on it.
Admission is free, but donations are gratefully accepted.

Attending a show at Tuacahn "Broadway in the Canyon" is a local favorite & draws crowds from across the country. The shows are always really good with cool special effects and a small firework show at the end. The setting of the show is unbeatable and I'm sure you've never been been to an outdoor amphitheater quite like this! This year they will be showing Cinderella, Matilda The Musical, & The Prince of Eqypt. You can go early for dinner or opt for a fun behind the scenes tour! Their season is typically from end of May through end of October. They do have some concerts and other events periodically throughout the year. www.tuacahn.org
