This place has been around forever, and is at my doorstep. The woman who owns it has been running it since the start, and she still makes traditional norwegian food for loyal locals.

This is where i get my Phò. Very low key, affordable place. Mostly for take out or to shut the world out in a corner of town where nothing much happens.

The best thai place. Not sure if they are still as good as they were, but still the best in town. Located by some of the main university buildings and surrounding museums, so a good place to stop.

If you want to spend a little, this place makes really inovative scandinavian food with seasonal ingredients. It is right by the fish market, and just around the corner from a nice quarter of town with bars and shops.

One of the very best kitchens in town. "Neo nordic" cusine, lots of seafood. Sometimes they are open late with cocktails and dj sets. They are located right by the pond where some of the main galleries and museums are.

If you want to get out of the center, this place and the neighbouring branch Bien Snack bar is very charming. Check out the menu before you set off, though. It is a bit of a walk back if you change your mind. Luckily it sits right by a light rail stop, though. They just opened a pizza place in the city center too that is worth a visit!

This place houses some of the best concert scenes, an independent movie theater, local festivals and art. There is also a resturant here with lots of tables by the waterfront. On sunny days the outdoor resturant is packed, but there is hardly a better place to spend a summer night if you can get a table. Expensive food of varying quality, and expensicve drinks that can be well worth it if the weather is good enough.

They have nice food too, mostly lunch and elaborate snacks to go with your drinks (Try the vitello tonnato or the fondue!!). This is a new bar, and probably the only good one this close to Bryggen and the hanseatic museums. Named after the ship that is often stationed there it is decorated in a quirky, old school navy style. I really like their vibe.
