Well presented, carefully cooked food, delicious fish and chips, lobster, lamb, beef or pork dishes, haggis and neeps, yummy puddings! Specials board is well worth choosing from. Dining area is not too large so advisable to book and there is a lively pub on the other side of the Inn for a different local atmosphere with roaring fire in the winter.

It is a lovely lighthouse in a very well looked after small town with lots of interesting houses and architecture and little shops. Great to stroll around, visit the harbour, Hugh Miller's cottage, The Court house ... Climb up or drive up the South Sutor (hill rising up from the back of the town) which has a great viewpoint at the top

Fortrose is probably the smallest city in the UK as it has a cathedral! Though only a small section of walls remaining it is well preserved in a beautifully maintained lawn and with the Court house next door. The history is very interesting. Also walk to St Andrews Church which has a wonderful view down a steep hill to Fortrose Harbour and the Beauly Firth to the mountains beyond, has lovely delicate wrought iron work inside, stained glass windows and carved wood panelling behind the altar (reredos).

You can walk along the beach to the left of Kirkmichael which is likely to be deserted and enjoy fresh sea air, probably a good strong breeze and a seaside walk in glorious isolation! I love it!

A lovely sandy beach, at least when the tide is out a bit, with lots of shells and interesting stones, walk to the caves in one direction or to Chanonry point on the other where you can look for dolphins in the Moray Firth.

Airbnb don't give the right choices for writing about the forestry on the Black Isle but I can tell you that there is a lot of forestry on the Black Isle and it is full of broad flat tracks to walk or run on and there is also a mountain biking area at Blackstand. From the Log Cabin there is a walk which is a circuit lasting about an hour through the forestry with one section on a narrow footpath and crossing a shallow burn (stream) and then bordering a small hill with sheep and llamas. Wide tracks with tall pines and no one around, you start off with views through the trees to the wonderful patchwork farmland of Resolis (an area of the Black Isle), and continue round by taking left turns.
