If you are in Montpellier for long enough it is worth a quick trip to Nimes to see its many ancient sites - just spectacular. Approx 40 minutes drive away.

The 1.5 hour hike up Pic Saint-Loup is just the right amount of challenge for beginner hikers and a great day out for avid hikers with a breathtaking view at the top. Children as young as 6yo can hike it too (although I've witnessed even younger do it!)
