Good farm to table place, who's menu changes with the seasons. It is in a renovated train depot, with some cool bike accents (it is on the bike trail). We recommend brunch or dinner. Walking distance from the cabin. Pricing is very reasonable and they have a nice selection of local beers. They close early on Sundays.

Huge scoops of ice cream, good selection. The Lost Lake Creamery backs up to a nice open park, so you can run off the dessert!

Real good burgers (try the California Burger) and real good malts. Not for the calorie counters. About a mile away from the cabin, right on the bike trail.

Beer selection is marginal, food is marginal (except the walleye sandwich, that is lovely), but this is the west Minnetonka scene! Great selection of boats rolling through, good dock seating for working on that tan and the kids can feed the exceptionally large carp that hang out near the slips their extra fries. Fun for sure if you're in the mood for some lakeside adventure.
Solid ribs joint. Beer selection is forgettable, take out highly recommended as the service is not good. Also have homemade pies, which is odd, but small town nice.

This is a straight up, old school American Legion. Like, the members built it by hand Legion (and added an addition). Cheap drinks, pull tabs (it is a type of charitable gambling, sort of like slot machines, but cardboard and manual) and Pat, an awesome barkeep. If you ask nicely, he will let you plug in your iPad/Phone, etc to play better music than the jukebox. Great for people watching and a friendly crowd.

If you want to paddle board this is the closest place to pick one up. Our bay is pretty calm, so it is a good spot if you are into paddle boarding. They have other rentals and an on-water gas station if you need fuel.

If you brought a boat, this is the easiest place to launch it! There is also a nice sandy beach, open space for soccer/frisbee/etc and playground equipment for the kids.

It is a nice sandy beach that is roped off and there is a fishing pier there as well. I personally think the fishing is better off of our dock. Carbone's will deliver to the beach!

Big Island is a pretty neat place. On the NW side, it is a party. On the SE side, it is a family friendly place with hiking trails and the remnants of an old amusement park. The south island has several cabins (and a couple on the north island), with a cool channel in between.

This is one of the coolest spots on the lake, an island just SW of Big Island that has ~6 structures on it, privately owned in the middle of the Lower Lake.

The west side of Lake Minnetonka is the quieter side. Wauwatosa island or "boy scout island" as we call it, is in the middle of the upper south lake and a great place to anchor, enjoy the sun and swim. There is a rope swing on the south side of the island that gets put up everyday (and taken down by the DNR every night) and then put up again! We have never been on the island, but hear it is a good place to hike.

Mound is a small town and this is a small town grocery store. In other words, if you are looking for a relatively obscure ingredient I would recommend going elsewhere. If you are looking for essentials, such as milk, eggs, etc, this is fine and close by.

Got bait? This is a good place to stop for it. Suckers, minnows, crawfish, wax worms, leeches, nightcrawlers, they have it all. Also have rods, reels and assorted fishing gear. Right by the Lunds grocery store.
