Food Scene

The food and setting are superb! Set in old buildings in a lovely garden, there is a bistro and a restaurant. We recommend you eat at both!

Really lovely fresh food served inside or in a lovely garden setting. The restaurant is amongst a number of antique shops set off the road. It pays to book ahead as Le Carre d'Herbes is very popular with locals and tourists.

Drinks & Nightlife

A great location from early to late, for breakfast, coffee, lunch, drinks, dinner and people watching. Good food and service. Wifi. A local "base".

Although it doesn't stay open terribly late, Stephane's offers a great selection of wine and delicious cheeses less that 5 minutes walk away, if you don't get distracted by the other lovely shops, bars and ice-creameries along the way! Stephane is always there to help select a bottle and a piece of cheese to take away and offers a lovely selection to share inside or sitting around the wine-barrel tables in the street.

Parks & Nature

A 5 minute drive or 30 minute walk to the other side of the town, alongside the Sorgue, takes you to a lovely park where you can picnic, swim or fish. There are a couple of restaurants open in the warmer months, although we haven't eaten there so cant advise on them specifically.

A really fun activity! Allow 2 1/2 hours to check in, Kayak down the river to L'Isle Sur la Sorgue and return by van to Fontaine de Vaucluse. Pass through lovely scenery and have some fun on the way. Expierence not required, however a small amount of fitness helps! Professional company - I've only heard good reviews.

An absolute must see! Set in an old bauxite mine under the hill-top town of Les Baux-de-Provence, every year the enchanting light/film/music show has a different artist or group of artists to enchant. If you have a car this is well worth the trip. Visit the lovely town at the same time.

Cartonnoir is the gallery and shop of artist Cecile Chappuis. Cecile makes and sells the most beautiful mirrors, frames and other decorative pieces, using corrugated cardboard as the base for many of them. Beautiful work and a lovely woman, just 2 minutes walk from the apartment. Take home a lovely souvenir, or order one to be sent to you! www.carton-noir.com
