Land earmarked for preservation. Previously owned by one of Linneaus' daughter, nowadays the local municipality struggles with the upkeep. Some farm animals kept here, nice area to walk around in.

Ulva kvarn, old preserved mill with a sluice gate. Nice spot for a picnic. Some small artisan shops here, also a small café. Inisde the main building, a glassblower sells pretty things.

The salmon-coloured castle is right on top of a fairly steep hill, facing a modest castle garden that is best experienced in spring.

A quaint teaching garden, where Linnaeus used to hold lectures. Lots of herbs, but really only worth a look in spring and summer. You have to buy a ticket (40kr) to get in.

Everything under one roof. since 2018: Nordic Bio (cinema) has reclining seats and sells pre-packaged sweet popcorn along with the usual salted popcorn. Now easily accessible by bus, stops right outside cinema entrance! (#4 from Resecentrum/ Interchange)

One of the best Indian restaurants in town. Decent lunch rates 80-90kr for 2 or 3 dishes. The salad bar is tiny, but the self-serve chai makes up for it. Vegetarians may have to order ala carte tho.

These people are serious about their coffee. If you want that elusive cup of something from one of the lesser-known coffee bean roasters in Sweden or elsewhere, this is the place to go. Ask to try Etnia's Gesha coffee for a real artisanal experience! You might have to sqeeze a bit or do take out as they don't have a lot of space, but go for the coffee before or after you take a hike up to the Uppsala Castle.
