This is a total favourite for afternoon tea inside Kensington Gardens ( not the same as the tearooms at Kensington Palace). It is v popular and you can't book - you have to queue but for me it is worth waiting to sit inside this beautiful old building - you can have lunch here too

This road has a lot of Chinese restaurants as well as food from other areas. Royal China has a good reputation - not cheap - but it's fun to walk along and just pick somehwere. The bowling alley and ice rink are here too

It's interesting to walk around inside - but mainly it's a beautiful and iconic building. There is a cafe directly outside but there is a fantastic tea room - the Orangery very near by - worht the extra short walk! See food recommendations!

You can see peacocks, a rose garden, ponds, a traditional Japanese garden, get ice-cream and there is a are two good children's playgrounds - a sandy one for those under 6 and a more adventurous area for the older ones. There's also a natural woodland play area and tennis courts

Get there before 11 to avoid the crowds - or go late to get the bargains on the fruit and veg stalls. NB there is no market on Thursdays

Peter Jones is right opposite Sloane square tube which is a couple is stops on the circle line from Notting Hill Gate and sells men and women’s fashion, children’s clothes, makeup, fabric, bedlinen. carpets, crockery, glasses, coffee makers, and electronics. Most things you could possibly want and all of a good quality.
