“USS Wisconsin (BB-64) is an Iowa-class battleship, the second ship of the United States Navy to be named in honor of the U.S. state of Wisconsin. She was built at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and launched on 7 December 1943 (the second anniversary of the Pearl Harbor raid), sponsored by the wife of Governor Walter Goodland of Wisconsin. A beautiful walk, about 15 minutes and under a mile, through historic Ghent.”
“Fresh air and great walking around the well kept grounds of the Norfolk Botanical Gardens.”
“MacArthur mall is 11 miles from the property located in Norfolk. Waterside is where most people go to see the boats, cruise, and clubs.”
“Great place to bring your little ones to discover nature and take a souvenir home.”
“Nauticus inspires and educates with engaging & interactive experiences that celebrate our connections with today's maritime world. It is a contemporary museum that uses the natural setting of Norfolk's harbor to showcase global maritime commerce and the world's largest Navy. Touch a shark, learn about marine life, explore naval history, catch a 3D educational movie, and climb aboard a battleship. ”
