A big park with a road just over 2 miles that you can bike, run, or walk. Also has a huge dog park in it, right next to the historic Observatory. There are also tons of trails through the woods if you're feeling more adventurous, a playground, swimming pool, and tennis courts.
Riverview Park is a nature lover's park, many hiking trails of all levels (most under 2 miles), and some of the highest points in the City, Observatory Hill. Also, two dog parks.
“COFFEE - Great coffee and espresso, warm atmosphere, , has a fire place, comfy seating, some pastries. Parking is free on the opposite side of the street - pay to parallel park on the same side. I've never had a parking problem. Opens around 6am, later on Sundays.”
“Takeout only. Nicky's is the only thai place on Northside, and boy is it good. I usually get pad thai (spice level starts at 1) or curry (spice level starts at 2 but it feels like a 3) and I always get an order of crab rangoons! ”
“THAI - Awesome food and service. Small place, only about 10 tables. I've never needed a reservation. BYOB. I think it's a very romantic place.”
“Brugge on the Vibrant North Side In April 2018 Brugge on North opened in the newly renovated Alphabet City. The now familiar menu and successful approach to neighborhood dining fuses with an urban performance space and contemporary bookstore. On many evenings guests dine on moules frites and other Brugge favorites while listening to jazz concerts or literary events hosted by City of Asylum”
“If you are not the adventurous type, there are boring clipper river cruises which will take you around. But if you like to explore, kayaking is the best option. The river ride gives you a great view of downtown city of Pittsburgh and amazing view on the other side of the river of the city spread over the hills. Be ready to sweat it out a bit especially if the weather is a bit warm. The kayaks have the option of solo kayaks and 2 person kayaks which is a great option if you have a family. Overall a good Attraction and must do in Pittsburgh.”
