An urban jungle just under the bridge of Calle 23, the Parque Almendares, also known as Parque Metropolitana, is located in the heart of the lively Vedado area. This is a popular place for Cuban family outings, where kids and people of all ages hang out under the shade of trees on hot summer days. There is a small golf course, an outdoor performance area frequented by local bands and a dinosaur park.

Along the banks of the Almendares River is Parque Almendares, also known as Bosque de La Haband (Havana’s Forest). This is the only urban forest in the city and is a recreational area for Habaneros that includes activities such as children’s playground, pony rides, mini-golf, boating and open-air snack bar. It's a nice place with lot of trees and lush. There's also the Almendares river, the City river, where you can take a boat and row. Good for walking through the Cuban "jungle"

There is a beautiful luscious family forest/park along the Almendares river walking distance (only 9 blocks) for music shows, playground, pony rides, and pedal boats!
