Speedy Romeo takes its name from co-owner Todd Feldman's family champion race horse and situates itself in a 100-year old bar turned liquor store, then auto parts shop in Brooklyn's Clinton Hill. It also churns out exemplary St. Louis-style pies (a rare form for a New York-based pizzeria) alongside complementary apps and mains. Everything is prepared in a hardwood fired Italian pizza oven or on a wood grill from Mesquite, Texas.
Soooo goood. I can't even. This place makes me love pizza even though NYC pizza isn't my thing. Thin crust, delicious toppings. Just go.
Best wood oven pizza! Great appetizers, try the hot peppers stuffed with sausage. It’s always quite lively. Only downside: it’s a bit pricey!
Wood-fired pizzas & Italian fare from an open kitchen set in a former body shop in Clinton Hill.
I have only been to the Speedy Romeo in Lower East Side, but this is the original location and from everything I hear it's amazing. The stuffed peppers appetizer is INSANE.
