Casual, historic town with modern amenities side-by-side with historic sites and unique venues. A 15-minute drive over the Blue Ridge mountains at the Afton Pass, where the Appalachian Trail crosses with stunning overlooks. Hike the Blue Ridge Tunnel. Drive the Blue Ridge parkway to restored homesteads in the Shenandoah National Parks system.

At foot of Blue Ridge Mountain with the South River (which eventually feeds into the Shenandoah River) running through it. About 30 minutes away but intersects with I64 for trips over Blue Ridge to Charlottesville sights. A favorite for fly fisherman. Lots of parks and green space

Waynesboro has some great restaurants and breweries like Basic City and Seven Arrows and lots of shopping options, such as Target, Kohl's, Old Navy, Lowes and Home Depot to name a few.

Waynesboro is the closest town, with local businesses and big box stores. It is a 30-minute drive.
