Grit Coffee, Downtown
Solid coffee but the standout is their breakfast. The chorizo hash and the breakfast burrito are some of our favorites.
Great for brunch or lunch! They have sweet and savory grits options as well as other breakfast fare! Also located on the downtown mall.
“This is a classic spot, as the oldest restaurant in Charlottesville. Try their club or their pimento cheese sandwich! ”
“Best Cville burger, in my book. Small, but mighty! Get the sweet potato fries and add a fried Oreo for just $1! You won’t regret this hole-in-the-wall...!”
“The food is amazing. The carefully crafted cocktails are worth the wait it sometimes takes to make them. Over 100 varieties of tequila! It's an upstairs space (with alternative outdoor patio seating) but the reason I love it is because of the live music- think gypsy guitars, flamenco, Tango, Latin guitar. The bar area is pretty small and it gets crowded, even on weeknights, especially when everyone in the place is dancing to the live music. ”
“Yummy soups, salads, and sandwiches. You can easily identify gluten free, dairy free, and vegetarian options on their menu. ”
“OK, I know you didn't come all the way to CVille to watch a movie, but if your plans get rained out, the Alamo is a great place to watch a movie and have a marg. In addition to first run movies, they often show various classics. ”
