First public park in NC est 1887. Has rides including carousel, miniature train, pedal boats, tennis court, baseball field, an arts center and a performing arts venue (Theatre in the Park)
If you have kids along you should definitely go - 5 min drive ! Paddleboats, glass enclosed carousel, walking trails, pavilions, snack stands, pond, etc. It's a nice place for anyone!
This park is so beautiful! It is over 66 acres with picnic areas, concessions stands, a carousel, train, kiddie boats and pedal boats are available for rent seasonally in the parks large pond.
Great for picnic, rides for children, rental shelters for events. Has a YMCA pool. Public tennis court.
A MUST VISIT if you're traveling with youngsters. Pedal boats, a playground, and an original, vintage carousel that has to be seen to be believed. (Did I mention there's a train, too?)
